Chinese Chestnut
$6.95
Chinese Chestnut (Castanea mollissima) trees are highly productive, very blight resistant, and have reliable yearly crops of starchy sweet nuts. Chestnuts can be eaten raw (refreshing sweat and crunchy) or roasted. Chestnuts make a great wildlife tree or food plot tree that deer love because of its high carbohydrate content and low tannins found in acorns.
These Chinese chestnut seedlings are from named cultivars such as Qing, Peach, Kohr, Gideon, Perry, Payne, Sleeping Giant, Hong Kong, AU-Homestead, Kintzel, Szego, Ace, Mossbarger, and Luvall’s Monster.

We received 5 bare root Chinese chestnut trees that are almost 30” tall from the root to the top of the tree. This is larger than what I was expecting so I am very please.
They were packaged very well so no damage during shipping.

Most of them were larger than I expected. They arrived two days after shipping notice and the roots were moist when I opened the package two days after arrival. I soaked the roots and planted them. I would buy again.

Looked better than the bare root trees I bought this year from the state nursery! Happy to add that all the chestnut trees are leafing out. Thank you Food Forest nursery, and keep it up!
